Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data EVANTGAMES collects, why, how we protect it and the rights you have under GDPR, UK-GDPR, CCPA and equivalent laws.

00 Privacy Policy at a glance

This Privacy Policy explains exactly what personal information EVANTGAMES collects, why it is collected and how you can control it. The Privacy Policy below is aligned with GDPR, UK-GDPR and CCPA, and includes a dedicated section for Google AdSense and other advertising partners. If you want a short answer, the Privacy Policy commits to never selling personal data, never using fingerprinting, and honouring Do Not Track signals by default.

01 Privacy Policy: who we are

EVANTGAMES (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent editorial publisher operating https://evantgames.com/. We are the data controller for personal information processed through this website. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, contact contact@evantgames.com.

This policy applies to all visitors to the website, whether they are logged in or not, whether they interact with any form or simply read articles. It does not apply to third-party sites we may link to; each of those has its own privacy policy that you should consult separately.

02 Privacy Policy: data we collect

We deliberately collect as little data as reasonably possible to run a fast, secure and useful website. The main categories are summarised in the table below.

03 Legal bases (GDPR / UK-GDPR)

  • Legitimate interest. Operating and securing the site, preventing abuse, aggregated analytics, product improvement.
  • Consent. Non-essential cookies, analytics beyond aggregate, advertising cookies and any optional marketing communications.
  • Contract. Handling your enquiries when you write to us and expect a reply.
  • Legal obligation. Responding to lawful requests, retaining takedown records and complying with DMCA obligations.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without penalty, and the withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

04 How we use your data

Security

Detect bots, prevent abuse, block automated attacks and rate-limit suspicious traffic.

Analytics

Understand which mods and tools are most useful and where readers experience friction.

User experience

Remember filters, preferred language, dark theme and other layout preferences.

Support

Reply to emails, takedown requests, correction reports and partnership enquiries.

05 Sharing & third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We may share limited technical data with a small, carefully chosen set of processors:

  • Hosting / CDN. To deliver pages quickly and to mitigate DDoS attacks. IPs are logged for security purposes only.
  • Analytics provider. Aggregated, anonymised traffic statistics with IP truncation before storage.
  • Advertising partners (e.g. Google AdSense). See section 10 for full detail and opt-out.
  • Affiliate networks. Click attribution when you follow a download partner link.
  • Law enforcement. Only when required by a valid legal request such as a subpoena or court order.

06 Retention

Server logs are kept for up to 30 days for security investigation. Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated within 24 hours and kept for up to 14 months. Contact emails are kept for as long as necessary to reply and to satisfy legal obligations, typically no more than 3 years. Backups follow a rolling 30-day cycle after which they are permanently deleted.

07 Privacy Policy: your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (right to be forgotten).
  • Restrict or object to processing under certain conditions.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Data portability in a machine-readable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example the UK ICO, an EU DPA, or the California Attorney General for CCPA rights).
  • Non-discrimination. Under CCPA, we cannot lawfully retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any right, email contact@evantgames.com. We respond within 30 days (extendable to 60 days for complex or high-volume requests, with notice given to you).

08 Children

EVANTGAMES is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact contact@evantgames.com and we will delete it promptly.

09 Security

We use HTTPS site-wide, edge firewalls, application-level rate limiting and hardened admin access. Passwords for internal editorial accounts are stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms; two-factor authentication is enforced. No online service is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and we review those measures regularly.

10 Ads & Google AdSense

EVANTGAMES uses third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to display ads. Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet.

  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Users in the EEA / UK are asked for consent before any personalised advertising cookies are set (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Where consent is not given, ads shown are non-personalised and rely only on contextual signals such as the topic of the page you are reading.
Advertisers do not receive any personally identifying information from EVANTGAMES. Ad targeting is based only on anonymised signals such as page context and (where consented) generic interest categories.

11 International data transfers

Some of our processors are located outside the EEA and the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on legally recognised safeguards including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms to ensure your data remains protected to the same standard as it would be within the EEA / UK.

12 Contact & updates

For any data-protection question, request or complaint, email contact@evantgames.com. We may update this policy from time to time. The Last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes are announced on the homepage; where the change affects consent, we will re-prompt through the cookie banner.

13 How to use this Privacy Policy

Read this Privacy Policy end to end at least once so you know which rights apply to you and how to exercise them. Every section of the Privacy Policy is written to be quoted and referenced, and the last-updated date at the top of the page reflects any material revision. If a change to the Privacy Policy affects consent, we re-prompt through the cookie banner so returning readers see the update immediately.
